Center piece doily - written pattern

The chart for this doily was jumping around in different groups on Facebook. I tried to search the origin/designer/look for a written pattern but I had no success, so I made my own written pattern. Note that it's only my interpretation of the chart, so there might be a different way of doing it. Feel free to leave a comment if there's a better way to describe the process :-) Also, English is not my native language so excuse my grammar and other language errors I've made.




This is how I made mine:

  • sl st = slip stitch
  • ch = chain
  • dc = double crochet
  • lp = loop
  • tr = treble 
  • sc = single crochet
  • EOR = until end of round/row
  • pc = picot (ch 3, sc 1 in first ch)
(Written in US terms)
First piece if work in the round.
  1. ch 8, sl st to form a ring.
  2. ch 3 (=1 dc), dc 17, sl st 1. [18 dc in the ring]
  3. ch 4, dc 1 in the space between dc from previous round, ch 1,
    *dc 1, ch 1*. Repeat *-* till end of row (EOR).
    End round with a sl st. [18 dc]
  4. sl st 1 to reach the space, ch 5,
    *dc 1in next space, ch 2*. Repeat *-* EOR. Sl st.
  5. sl st to loop, ch 3, dc 1, ch 2,

    Repeat the pattern of r 26 until you have 1 loop left in center part.

  27. sl st to lp, (dc 3, ch 3, dc 3) in lp, ch 3, sc 1 in lp, ch 3, (dc 3, ch 3, dc 3) in lp. Turn!
  28. sl st to lp, (dc 3, ch 3, dc 3) in lp, skip to cluster on the other side of the center, (dc 3, ch 3, dc 3) in lp. Turn!

    Repeat r 28 four more times or as many rows as you wish to finish the end.
  29. sl st to lp,  ch 7, sl st 1 in next lp. Break yarn and fasten ends. Repeat on the other side of the circle piece.
Fasten yarn in 2:nd lp counting backwards from the ch of 20 you made in r 12 and start on row 13. Of course you skip the part of "sl st to lp" :-)

  1. Thank you for putting this into print. I love it for my buffet. I increased the pineapples to 24 and 20 and increased middle circle by 3 rows for cousin table it worked fine. Thank you again.
